Survivor Breakfast

TUL Survivor ImageWith the support from Panera Bread, we wish to honor our Survivors on Race morning with our annual Survivor Breakfast. Panera Bread will supply breakfast for all survivors free of charge. We encourage Survivors to bring their families, however, food is limited. Survivors will get first priority. The Survivor Breakfast starts at 6:30 am in the Survivor Pavilion located behind left field inside Oneok field.

Survivor Parade and Ceremony

Immediately following the Survivor Breakfast, we invite all breast cancer Survivors to participate in the annual Survivor Parade and Celebration Ceremony. Hosted by the Newson6 Morning Team of Leanne Taylor, Rich Lenz and Alan Crone, the Survivor parade and ceremony begins at 8:00 am on the Oneok field and is a perfect opportunity to bring together survivors from those who are newly diagnosed to those who have been survivors for several years. It is a time set aside to celebrate life and remember and honor lives lost to breast cancer.

This year we will be celebrating our 20th Susan G. Komen Race Cure in Tulsa, so come prepared!

Remembering and Honoring Loved Ones

Jack Wing Honor Wall
Please join us in honoring, encouraging, and remembering our friends and family affected by breast cancer by visiting the Jack Wing Honor Wall. Race participants will get a chance to read stories of our survivors and their journeys as well as an opportunity to write their own personal message, post a photo or leave an encouraging note or tell their own story on our wall.

The namesake of Honor Wall, Jack Wing, served as Race Director for the Komen Tulsa Race for the Cure for 16 years. During that time, Jack played various, vital roles behind the scenes of the Race and was always at the finish line cheering participants to finish strong.

Memorial Video
Along with celebrating Survivors at the 2016 Race for the Cure, we want to remember those who have lost their battle with breast cancer during this past year.

Please help us identify those who are no longer physically with us, but who will forever be remembered in our hearts. We don’t want to miss even one person who has bravely fought the good fight against breast cancer. Please help us identify those we have lost by supplying their name, a photograph, the year they were born as well as the date they left us. Please email this information to abbi@komentulsa.org no later than September 10, 2016.
