My life was forever changed on December 16, 2016, when I was diagnosed with breast cancer. It's the kind of unexpected news that takes the wind out of your sail and stops you in your tracks. As a busy wife and working mom of three kids, the news was a bit overwhelming.
From December of 2016 until February of this year, I spent every day focused on maintaining a positive attitude, remaining steadfast in my faith and giving it my all, one day at a time. After 14 months, 17 rounds of chemo, 33 days of radiation, 2 surgeries and 50+ doctor appointments - I am officially cancer free!
I am thankful for all the true warriors who have gone before me and inspire everyone facing a breast cancer diagnosis to keep the faith, preserve and remember that we are much stronger than any disease. Thank you sweet family and friends for your steadfast and unwavering support on this journey. I am forever grateful!
This year, I registered for the Komen Race for the Cure because I wanted to take action and be More Than Pink™. I want to make an impact in the fight against breast cancer and need your help.
Your support helps us get one step closer to a world without breast cancer. 75 percent of the money raised through the Race stays in the community to fund local breast cancer education, screening and treatment programs. The remaining 25 percent supports groundbreaking breast cancer research.
Together, we are fueling the best science, boldest community and biggest impact in the fight against breast cancer. And we will not stop until this disease is gone forever. That's our promise. Will you please join me in this fight by making a donation today?
