On January 12th of this year after a routine mammogram I was diagnosed with stage 2 A breast cancer. There was no breast cancer history in my family and I was considered a very low risk. Even after I knew the tumor was there I couldn't feel it. If I had waited until I felt a lump my cancer would have no doubt been much more advanced. After 6 months of chemo and a bilateral mastectomy with no indication of cancer in my lymphnodes, I believe I am currently cancer free.
2017 has been the toughest year of my life but it would have been so much harder if it wasn't for my faith and the support of my incredible family, friends, church and coworkers.
This year, I registered for the Komen Race for the Cure because I wanted to take action and be More Than Pink™. I want to make an impact in the fight against breast cancer and need your help. Please consider joining my team for the September 30th Race For the Cure (i'll be walking) or making a tax-deductible donation today in support of my fundraising efforts.
Your support helps us get one step closer to a world without breast cancer. 75 percent of the money raised through the Race stays in the community to fund local breast cancer education, screening and treatment programs. The remaining 25 percent supports groundbreaking breast cancer research.
Together, we are fueling the best science, boldest community and biggest impact in the fight against breast cancer. And we will not stop until this disease is gone forever. That's our promise. Will you please join me in this fight by making a donation today?
